spinning the moon

Picture

The primary text for this series is “Jambalaya: the Natural Woman’s Book of Personal Charms and Practical Rituals.” Exercises from the book are provided to help participants capture the energy of each Moon in their spiritual practice.

Several videos introducing the myths and music of selected Goddesses  prepares us for the deeper discussion to take place during our time together.  Teish will share her personal experiences with the specific rituals done on the New and Full Moon. The Recommended events (the Mirror in the Water & Words Across the Water) are available through Eventbrite.

The ritual work  includes altar building, visualizations, water-gazing, and artwork. Each session  will focus on a specific  practice such as burden-burning to release stagnant energies; money pouring to increase prosperity; invoking ancestral assistance, embodying archetypes and  joyous celebration.

Participants are encouraged to embody the power and beauty of these deities  through journaling, artwork, and ritual, and to cultivate kinship by sharing  their experiences in small group discussions.  In this way we can manifest our vision.  We can make “The Dream” come true.

We  are likely to experience  COVID Recovery relief, improved sleep with  clearer dreams, and greater creative expression.

Significance of
the New Moon

The new Moon is a magical time of beginnings, when you can recharge goals, or set new ones.
At the new Moon, goals and wishes take root, as you reach out for spiritual wisdom, draw on unseen allies and open the door to magical change. You might get what you ask for, or something even better that you can't imagine yet.

Significance of
the Full Moon

Many people feel the energetic buzz of the Full Moon. What's cool to note, is that it always means the Sun and Moon are in opposite Zodiac signs. It's a super charged time, but also one of balance. The solar yang and the lunar yin are in harmony
This surge allows you to take action on behalf of those new Moon intentions you set two week prior. A full Moon ritual might involve taking one solid step, with a symbolic action. And it can be a powerful time to release, cast out, unburden yourself, purge, etc. You celebrate your emergence by stepping out of an old skin, identity, behavior, attitude, relationship. The ritual helps you by marking this inner transformation in a formal way.
Since the full moon pours down a tremendous amount of energy, you must be in a calm state of mind to receive a positive effect. Remember that whatever is going on in your body, mind and spirit will be amplified.
